Well, I've finished Rose's blanket. :-)
...and I love it!
Around the edges it's still a little wobbly and I'm not too sure why it's happened, maybe I did an extra treble cluster somewhere. I'm not sure but I'm not too fussed about it as it won't notice when it's being used..!
I was worried that the colours weren't going to go well together as their all chosen randomly but I think it looks quite nice. :-)
It helps having all of the centres the same colour, it helps to bring it all together.
I chose to crochet a scalloped edging which makes it look nice and girly...
So... do you like it...?!
I'm off to start another WIP... oops!
It's this gorgeous cowl.
I'm making it with my Rowan lenpur liner yarn which I think will look really great, but I really shouldn't be starting something new. I have so many other thing's to finish off, including a birthday present... which means I have a deadline to stick to...

(Edited to say: Thank you very much to the lovely Louise at Tea at weasels for giving me the Versatile blogger award. :-)
I'll get a post written for it as soon as I can.)
Wow Ashley, that blanket is so lovely just right for a special little girl to snuggle up with.... that is if she stays still long enough!!
ReplyDeleteWell done
Love Mum xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Oh my word, that's fab!! I love it! The colours are gorgeous and the edging looks really good. What yarn did you use? Did you join as you go or all at the end? Sorry for quizzing you - I've still got to muster up the enthusiasm to join the granny squares I started earlier in the year. I'm thinking I could manage a blanket like this one - could you help me? You know that if you lived closer to me I'd be popping my head round your door every five minutes to get you to help! Ha!

Fantastic Ashley! The colours are amazing. It's a wonderful feeling when you finish a project, stand back to admire it, and then say to yourself, 'right, what's next?'
ReplyDeleteHave a fab crafty weekend.

You have used lovely colours! Good idea to keep the middles the same - I'll try that on my next blankie (if I ever finish my ripple!. Look forward to seeing your cowl!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. I love your choice of colours, and the edging just finishes it off.
ReplyDeleteThis is why it is so lush to have a baby girl! The colours are awesome and then Rose can pass it down to her children. How gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are clever and its very very cute.
I am so new to crochet I've only just mastered the treble stitch. I can see your granny squares but what are the other stitches, all little little bobbles. Is that one big piece of blanket and you just had to sew together the patterned granny squares to add on? Do I make sense.....I don't think I EVER do !!!

Ashley your blanket is so lovely. The colours are really cheerful.

It's absolutely gorgeous, Ashley! I really love it. Have you blocked it? If not, that's probably why it's wobbly. However, it doesn't look wobbly to me. It looks great on Rose's cot. xx
ReplyDeleteGranny blankets are so lovely. My aunt made one for my daughter's 21st birthday and it was such a beautiful present - better than anything shop-bought.
ReplyDeleteHey Ashley!
ReplyDeleteRose is a very lucky little lady, beautiful blanket! The colours work really well and I love the border. Well done!
P.S. Thanks for all the encouragement on the childbirth front! :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely blanket! I hope mine turns out as lovely! Can I ask if you have a tutorial for the pretty scalloped edging? It looks so lovely! x
ReplyDeleteI love your blanket Ashley, lovely colours,I m sure rose will have it forever.love juliexx
ReplyDeleteHi! This blanket is so wonderful, the colours are perfect and I love the big thick border you've done! Maybe if you pin it out (if you have space?) and block it, it'll lay flat but it probably doesn't matter when it's used anyway :-)
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this????? Must be naughty blogger again!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Well done you. I think you are totally right the middles do bring it all together.
My edges seem to go wobbly too. No idea why, I've even tried Bunny Mummy's edge tutorial which is supposed to make the edges stay flat. But you're right in that you can't tell when in use.
