Pregnancy diary - Week 29

I call these the pregnancy diary posts but they are so sparse that they can't really be called that... more like 'occasional when I get my bum into gear' posts. Ah well, a couple of pregnancy posts is better than nothing and will always be interesting to look back on in the future.

I'm officially 29 weeks pregnant with our second baby today but I took these photo's during last week when I was still technically 28 weeks... so obviously I'm a little bigger now. I'm starting to feel reallllyy tired again these day's, I remember feeling really exhausted from about 7 weeks until around 12 and then it eased up slightly and I felt like I had a lot more energy. Well, that energy has now been used up! I feel absolutely fine in the mornings, it's just the afternoons that can be a bit tough as that's when Rose has her crazy hyper time and I struggle to keep up with her! We went for a walk into town and to the park this afternoon when the weather had cleared up and by the time we got home, I just felt zapped of Any energy I thought I had. It doesn't help that Rose and I are both suffering with colds, yet again.

I feel a Whole lot bigger this time round, maybe it's because it's a boy this time or maybe it's because I'm having to carry this big bump around with me whilst I keep up with Rose. She's started to show a lot more interest in my baby bump these days and has learnt to stroke it now rather than give it a good thump! I think she just wanted to see what my reaction would be. She now seems to be fascinated by my 'outy' belly button and 'beeps' it when ever my belly is bare. I'm so excited for Rose to have a brother but at the same time I'm clinging onto these last couple of months where it's just the three of us.

Apart from having some pelvic-pain which seems to have settled down a bit (now I'm trying to take it more easy!), I'm doing ok. Just have the general aches and pains which are normal... I never remember having any complaints when I was pregnant with Rose though, I probably did have but I'm most likely just noticing things more this time round because I'm already tired after looking after Rose. She's normally not hard work at all but she just keeps on catching these cold virus'! As soon as we seem to be getting over one cold, another one starts to show signs of appearing!

Right, time for bed for me... I'm not managing to stay up that late these days. Probably best to get in as much sleep as I can before December is here!

  2. I think you should have said 'when I get my bump into gear'! Hope your colds soon improve, and that a magical bit of extra energy comes your way. It must be hard having toddler to chase after when you're pregnant - probably why I stopped at one!

  6. Lovely to see you back, and it is very tiring when you have a toddler and another one on the way. I had 6 years between my first two, so that was fairly easy, I could rest when he was at school BUT the second and third, not so much!!! He was 8 months old when I was pregant again, that was full on. You do get through it, we women are pretty incredible. Take care.

  7. We can hardly blame you for not posting so much lately, look at all you've been doing. Looking after Rose is job enough, but you are working really hard on growing a whole new person too - enough to take it out of anyone! I'm so glad you are all ok though, apart from horrible colds, I've been wondering how you'v been getting on lately. Remember to take it as easy as you can now, things will only get more hectic when the little one arrives! Look after yourself :)

  9. I could have written this post myself as I'm feeling just the same as you. I'm exactly 32 weeks today and feel big and tired. It's definitely much harder second time around with a busy nearly two year old to keep up with. Also I've never been beyond 31+2 as Frederick was premature so this is new territory for me. I am lucky though that my little one will have a good nap in the afternoon when my energy goes. Like you, I have energy in the morning so am busying myself getting on with the 'baby to do' list in the mornings. Frederick is showing interest in my bump like Rose is. It's so sweet isn't it. He kisses it and says 'hello baby'. My husband has been trying to explain to him that Mummy will go into hospital for a night or two to have baby. Think it might be too much for a nearly two year old to understand though. I'm off to photograph my bump now as it's something I haven't really done this pregnancy. Must get a record of it. Take care. Fiona x

  16. Hi, still looking great though and I think you have done far more pregnancy updates that I have managed. I am def bigger too, think it might just be that you stretch more easily. My only hope it that this applies to labour also and the few hours of easy work I am imagining go to plan. Strangely I too have had more aches and pains. I don't know whether it is that I am more aware of them this time (almost that I am more aware of what I have to lose if anything goes wrong if that makes sense) or that it is literally just battling to get a toddler in her car seat and running around after her all day does take its toll. It is hard to know how much they fully understand about the process isn't it? I got some nice books from the library this week about new babies and we have started to talk about it more the closer it gets but still...
